Member Benefits - Clinical Practice Tools

The Clinical Practice initiative of SGIM is comprised of the Clinical Practice Committee and numerous task forces and interest groups that act as a centralized hub in developing new materials and theories for use in the field. These taskforces include Evidence-Based Medicine, Geriatrics, Women’s Health and Routine HIV screening.
Clinical Practice Committee: The Clinical Practice Committee helps SGIM advocate for the central role of general internal medicine in health care, supports clinical practice, collaborates with other organizations to promote our discipline, and helps create synergy throughout the medical community.
Clinical Practice Task Forces and Interest Groups: Due to the diversity of our membership, SGIM has formed several task forces directly related to clinical practice. Interested members have the opportunity to become a catalyst in groups including evidence-based medicine, geriatrics, women’s health and routine HIV testing.
Clinical Practice Resources SGIM has compiled an extensive catalog of useful references including documents on coding, chronic disease management, consultative medicine, and clinical guidelines.
Clinical Practice Awards : To help identify excellence in clinical practice, SGIM has several honors for those individuals who stand out based on their innovation in their community.
